On 30th November 2016, the “Oyu tolgoi 2016-2017” scholarship awarding ceremony took place and awarded the scholarship for 21 students to study at domestic and international universities.
In the frame work of cooperation agreement between “Oyu tolgoi” LLC and Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, 200 domestic universities and 30 international universities scholarship allowed from 2010-2015 and the scholarship program continues in 2016-2017.
In the ceremony, new scholarship nominees, former students, parents’ representatives and Mr. M. Munkhbaatar, director of policy implementation of MECSS, Mr. Micheal Gavin, general manager of Oyu tolgoi LLC, Mr. L. Orgil, general manager of public relations of the Government of Mongolia and other officials participated.
20 students awarded the scholarship for 2016-2017 and 11 students from MUST, 4 of them from NUM and 5 students from other universities of Mongolia.
2016-2017 is the continued scholarship program of 5 years agreement between “Oyu tolgoi” LLC and MECSS. This program contributes to prepare national professionals in the field of mining and other related areas and 2010-2015 program financed 126 million US dollars of support to implement this complex program.
Scholarship grants tuition fees, monthly stipend and accommodation fees. And it allows internship opportunities at “Oyu tolgoi” LLC and involves for youth development programs.
Therefore “Gobi Oyu development fund” scholarship will nominate it’s contesters this Friday.
