MUST and “Sumitomo Corp.” signed on the cooperation agreement in 2010. In the frame work of cooperation, there are 20 student award its scholarship the total amount of 1 million tugriks every year since 2016. This year, the scholarship awarding ceremony took place on 19 April 2017 at MUST, and Prof. B. Ochirbat, President of MUST, Prof. P. Jargaltuya, Vice-president and Mr. Fujiwara Hiroto, General Manager of Sumitomo Representative Office and Ms. J. Gantuya, Scholarship manager of Sumitomo Corp. attended in the ceremony.
Sumitomo Corp. allows scholarship for 1000 students from 41 universities in 11 countries, and allowed its scholarship for 10 thousand students as duplicated numbers since 1996. There are 350 students already awarded this scholarship in Mongolia.
Sumitomo Corp. started cooperation projects for gold mineral processing for Central bank of Mongolia in 1991. In 1996, joint project with KDDI and Newcom LLC established Mobicom corp. and created 1000 work places. It is contributing to eliminate air pollution to establish LPG importing company in 2004. Thus, the company expended its business into mining sector and importing mining equipments since 2009.
