The network was founded in the year 2000 and has been strongly supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research (BMWF) and the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD-GmbH). With a total of 152 member institutions in Austria, China, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Bhutan, India, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, the network promotes multilateral scientific cooperation, joint research projects, conferences as well as faculty and student exchange.
Following scholarships allowed to member organizations of Mongolia.
1. Doctoral degree program /Ph.D./
· Duration: 6 months
· Amount: 940 Euros monthly
2. Post doctoral programs /Post-Doc/
· Duration: 6 months
· Amount: 1040euros monthly

Requirements for Ph.D. and Post-soc applications:
Ph.D. students
- Master degree
- Admitted as a Ph.D. student at a member institution of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
- High scientific / artistic quality on an international level
- Very good command of written and spoken English and/or German
- Recommendation letter by the respective department at the home institution
- Statement of acceptance by an academic supervisor of an Austrian member institution to act as advisor and host
Post-Docs
- Ph.D. degree
- Academic position at a member institution of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
- High scientific / artistic quality on an international level
- Very good command of written and spoken English and/or German
- Recommendation letter by the respective department at the home institution
- Statement of acceptance by a professor of an Austrian member institution to act as advisor and host
Selection of candidates:
The Universities are asked to preselect and nominate the best qualified Ph.D. and Post-Doc candidates. Thereupon, the complete application files have to be forwarded to the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet Office in Austria.
The final selection of Ph.D. and Post-Doc scholarship-holders will be made by Austrian scientists and EPU coordinators and scientists.
